Why the formula that feels like water delivers more than the one that feels like cream.

There is a persistent belief in skincare that richness signals efficacy. That a cream which sits heavy on the skin is working harder than one that disappears in seconds. This belief is understandable — it comes from sensory experience, not science. And in Bangkok, it causes real damage.

The stratum corneum — the outermost layer of skin — is selectively permeable. It admits molecules based on size, polarity, and lipid solubility, not on how much product you applied. A thick film of occlusive emollient on the surface does not push actives deeper. It creates a seal that, in high humidity, traps heat and sebum, increases follicular pressure, and triggers the microcomedone formation that precedes breakouts.

In Bangkok at 80% relative humidity, a heavy cream turns the skin surface into a greenhouse. What was designed to nourish instead suffocates. This is not a flaw in the user — it is a mismatch between the climate the formula was designed for and the climate you actually live in.

Our Day & Night Cream was engineered to resolve this mismatch. The base is a water-continuous emulsion — what the industry calls an oil-in-water system — where active lipids are suspended in a water-dominant matrix rather than the reverse. The result is a texture that spreads like water and absorbs in under ninety seconds. No residue. No film. No thermal trap.

What the texture does not reveal is what it carries. The PentaBrightyl™ complex is loaded into polymeric nanocapsules averaging 163 nm — small enough to traverse the lipid channels between corneocytes, large enough to remain stable until the moment of delivery. The lightweight base is not a compromise. It is the delivery vehicle. A heavier emulsion would require the capsules to compete with the occlusive matrix for penetration pathways. In the water-continuous base, there is no competition.

In our Franz cell testing — the standard in-vitro method for measuring transdermal penetration — the Day & Night Cream achieved 67% active delivery to the viable epidermis. For reference, a conventional heavy cream formulation carrying the same actives in an oil-continuous base reached 22% in the same test conditions.

There is one place where texture does matter scientifically: the overnight application. During sleep, transepidermal water loss increases by 15–25% as the body enters its repair cycle. At this stage, a light occlusive layer — not a heavy one — is appropriate. Our cream provides just enough barrier support to slow overnight water loss without impeding the skin's own lipid synthesis, which peaks between midnight and 2am.

This is why the formula works for both morning and night application without reformulation. Light enough to wear under sunscreen. Supportive enough to work while you sleep. The two requirements are not in conflict when the base chemistry is right.
